The Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR) provides that „everyone has the right to nationality.‟1 Nationality2 refers to the legal relationship between a State and an individual.3 The consequences are that this legal relationship gives rise to obligations and rights conferred by the State on these individuals. Statelessness occurs when an individual has no nationality of any country; a stateless person is someone who is not considered as a national by any State under the operation of its laws.en_US
