Abstract

It is evident that internship programmes are essential in the contemporary business climate. Many business organizations use the programme to reach talented students in order to alleviate their professional problems. Similarly, teaching institutions also employ internship programmes in order to evaluate and update their school curriculum so that they could prepare their students to satisfy the needs of the existing labor market. ACC offers an internship programme with a purpose of assisting its students to develop managerial skills by exposing them to different financial and governmental organizations during summer vacation. This is to satisfy the very shortage of skilled manpower in the business enterprises in Eritrea. The internship programme could assist the students in their professional development as future business professionals. The aim of the research is therefore to investigate what strengths and weaknesses the programme has. It was also aimed at providing some useful suggestions and recommendations to the internship developers of the ACC for better utilization of the programme in particular and other interested parties who further study on the programme.
