| dc.description.abstract | Many socio-anthropological and/or quantitative studies have attempted to address the issue of violence against women indirectly by focusing on the perceptions of the actors rather than on the fact of having suffered it directly. This is the case, for example, in Burkina Faso, with certain nationwide studies such as the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) of 2003, 2006 and 2010. Thus, the direct measurement of the phenomenon, i.e. whether or not the phenomenon has been experienced, is rarely addressed through household surveys. | en_US |
