dc.description.abstract | Due to various mitigation strategies implemented to contain the spread of COVID-19, nearly 1.2 billion school children had their education put on hold. In addition, the widespread nature of the COVID-19 pandemic came with numerous psychological challenges, including stress, anxiety, and depression. The aim of this study was to investigate the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent learners attending public schools in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The study was a quantitative study that used six self-reporting questionnaires: demographic questionnaire, Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-Item (GAD-7) Scale, Patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9), The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CDRISC-10). | en_US |
