dc.description.abstractIt is widely acknowledged that the personal burden of disease cannot be described fully by measures of disease status. Psychosocial factors must be encompassed. Health- related quality of life research is an area of research that has been used to assess the effects of illness and treatments on daily life activities and life satisfaction. Health related quality of life can be defined as the value assigned to the duration of life as modified by the impairments, functional states, perceptions and social opportunities that are influenced by disease, treatment and health care delivery.en_US
