The objective of this study was to investigate the role of Food Garden Projects in poverty reduction. The study was based on the assumption that interventions such as food gardens, if fully exploited and utilized, can reduce the vulnerability of rural households to poverty by empowering them to use available land to grow their crops and develop their own income generating interventions. The specific objectives of this study were to, 1. Provide an in-depth analysis of the socio-economic impacts of the MTO Food Garden Project initiative on the beneficiaries. 2. Identify challenges that the MTO Food Garden Project is facing with respect to their poverty reduction goals. 3. Provide recommendations on how Food Garden Projects can be promoted and enhanced in the Elgin Learning Foundation
