The study of the Congregational Union of South Africa as a Protestant Church of the Reformed tradition has been largely neglected in this country. True enough, detailed research on aspects of the London Missionary Society (L.M.S.) as the pioneer missionary society out of which South African Congregationalism developed, has been done.
