Abstract

Education falls under one of the vital services that was severely disrupted by the psychological aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, international research indicates that the pandemic has had a significant impact on mental health. The aim of this study was to explore the psychological impact of COVID-19 on a sample of South African school teachers, by investigating the levels of fear of COVID-19, anxiety, depression, and life satisfaction within this cohort. In addition, this study aimed to investigate the role of egoresilience and perceived social support as protective factors in mental health outcomes.
