Abstract

Young people, particularly University students, are at high risk of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies. It is well established that unprotected sexual intercourse, transactional sex and inconsistent use of condoms are drivers of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies among university students. This study aimed to explore experiences with condom use among sexually active students at the University of Zimbabwe. An exploratory qualitative research approach was employed to conduct this study and data were collected through semi-structured individual in-depth interviews with ten students and two student peer supporters who were purposively sampled from among university students.
