dc.description.abstract | Background: The SRC is to convene a forum to discuss labour issues and to determine the nature of student support for the progressive trade union movement. In a statement, the SRC secretary, Mr Russel McGregor, said the SRC was recently approached by students concerned about the plight of workers and the workers’ struggle in general. ‘It is felt that a structure should be initiated which can propagate the fact that workers should lead the struggle, to assert progressive trade unions in the community and to launch a research project into labour issues. | |
