Item Student and clinical educator perspectives of clinical reasoning(University of Western Cape, 2021) Hendricks, Jacqueline; Hess, DanelleClinical reasoning describes the thinking and decision-making process behind one’s actions. Effective clinical reasoning should result in appropriate decision-making that leads to better clinical outcomes for the patient. The successful transfer of basic sciences – in other words, clinical knowledge – helps students develop clinical reasoning. However there are challenges translating academic theory into practical situations.
