dc.description.abstractThis open-form essay reflects on issues of poetics, politics, and ethics by analysing a series of texts that use images of stone. Authors of the texts include W B Yeats, Nelson Mandela, T S Eliot, Solomon, Seamus Heaney, William Plomer, Douglas Livingstone, W H Auden, the apostles John and Simon Peter, and Jesus.
