Background: It's true that general health can be affected by oral health. Poor oral health can affect speech capacity and have a direct impact on quality of life, health, well-being, chronic, and other non-communicable diseases. Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) is a commonly used term to describe how oral diseases and disorders impact overall quality of life. Australia is home to both an Indigenous population and a nonIndigenous population. Studies have shown that both general health and oral health tend to be poorer among self-reported Indigenous Australians compared to non-Indigenous Australians. Despite being a high-income country, this population has reported poor oral health-related quality of life. However, there are limited studies that identify the factors associated with oral health-related quality of life in this marginalized population. The aim of this study is to determine, investigate and describe the factors associated with oral health related quality of life among the self-reported Australian indigenous adults using a systematic review.
