This study envisioned providing a substantive theory to explain employees’ flourishing in the workplace through the implementation and experience of flexible working arrangements. In so doing it aimed to contribute to the body of knowledge contributing to a movement of increased flourishing among employees in the Western Cape, South Africa, and perhaps around the world. Flexible working arrangements as a whole have been a topic of interest in recent times. There has been an increase in research on flexible working arrangements, specifically working hours.
