For decades, dental casts have been fabricated via the conventional cast fabrication technique which presents with its own set of disadvantages. To address these disadvantages, digital cast fabrication has been presented as an alternative. This is done via intraoral scanning and subsequent three-dimensional (3D) printing of dental models.
