The power irregularity crisis affected several businesses, including large franchises in South Africa, such as Game, ABSA Bank, and Foschini. This was the first stage of failure for several businesses. Numerous businesses had to close or reduce stock and staff to stay afloat. Businesses were warned about the frequency of load-shedding; however, it still affected several substantially, as they could not afford alternatives. These businesses were affected owing to the downtrend of South Africa’s economy.
